Tilak Varma delivered a match-winning performance in the Asia Cup 2025 Final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, guiding India to victory with a composed, unbeaten knock.
Chasing 148, India faced early trouble after losing three wickets inside the PowerPlay. But the left-handed southpaw held his nerves, scoring an unbeaten 69 off 53 balls, building crucial partnerships with Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube to stabilize the innings.
As the match approached its climax with 10 runs needed off the final over, Tilak smashed Haris Rauf’s second delivery for a towering six over midwicket, bringing India closer to the title. Rinku Singh then finished the job with two balls to spare, sealing a memorable win.
Speaking after the Asia Cup match, Tilak said, “They were bowling well, mixing the pace up. I was backing my game. This is one of the most special knocks of my life. This is for all the Indians.”
For his calm and composed innings under pressure, Tilak Varma was rightly named Player of the Match.
