The Kedarnath Yatra 2025 has surpassed last year’s numbers, attracting over 16.56 lakh pilgrims, breaking the 2024 record of 16.52 lakh visitors. Despite challenges such as heavy rainfall, landslides, and snowfall, the pilgrimage continued with strong participation, thanks to enhanced safety measures and efficient traffic management implemented by authorities.

On October 8, 2025, around 19,731 pilgrims visited the Char Dham and Hemkund Sahib shrines:

  • Kedarnath: 5,614 devotees
  • Badrinath: 5,042 devotees
  • Gangotri: 6,217 devotees
  • Yamunotri: 2,360 devotees

Authorities have ensured smooth arrangements for pilgrims, including medical facilities, clean drinking water, and improved pathways. The Kedarnath Temple is scheduled to close on October 23, 2025, marking the end of this year’s Char Dham Yatra season.

This year’s record-breaking turnout highlights the enduring faith of devotees and the growing popularity of the Char Dham pilgrimage, making it one of the most significant religious events in India.
